2025 President's Message
Greetings MNIAI Members,
My name is Jessica Slavik and it is a privilege to serve as President of the Minnesota Chapter of the International Association for Identification (MNIAI). I have been with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office for 18 years, working in a variety of roles. Currently, I serve as the Lieutenant of the Criminal Investigations Division, and before that, I spent a fulfilling 10 years with our Crime Scene Unit. I am also a certified Crime Scene Investigator through the IAI.
It has been an honor to be a part of the MNIAI Board for the past 6 years, and the experience has been incredibly rewarding. Working alongside dedicated professionals who share a passion for forensic science, criminal justice and crime scene investigation has allowed me to learn and grow.
I want to take a moment to encourage all professionals in our field to consider becoming a member of the MNIAI. Our organization offers a wealth of resources, professional development, and a strong network of dedicated individuals committed to excellence in our field. Membership applications can be found under the membership tab of the website.
One of the most important events of the MNIAI is the Fall Educational Conference. This is a wonderful opportunity for our professions to come together, enhance our skills, and build strong connections. I want to thank each of you for your valuable contributions over the years as I have been truly inspired.
As we look forward to 2025, I would like to take a moment to recognize the tremendous efforts of our 2024 President, Ryan Fitzgerald. His leadership and hard work were instrumental in the success of our 2024 MNIAI Fall Educational Conference, and we are all grateful for his dedication.
I am excited to announce that the 2025 MNIAI Fall Educational Conference will be held at Breezy Point Resort, from September 24th – 26th. Stay tuned for more details. I look forward to seeing you there!
If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to any of the MNIAI Board members or myself.
