MNIAI Conference Scholarship Program
Thank you for your interest in attending the MN Division of the International Association for Identification (MNIAI) Fall Educational Conference! The MNIAI funds a limited number of scholarships that cover the conference registration fee and lodging for the annual conference.
Preferential consideration will be given to individuals who meet the following criteria:
The scholarship recipients do not need to be current members of the MNIAI to apply.
The application is due annually by July 1. Applications will be reviewed by the MNIAI Board of Directors and the scholarship recipients and applicants will be notified of the decision no later than July 31.
A maximum of two applicants per year will be chosen to receive scholarships.
As stated above, scholarship recipients receive their Full Conference Registration and lodging paid by the MNIAI. The Secretary/Treasurer will contact the winners to facilitate booking their sleeping rooms. Recipients are responsible for expenses including some meals and any other incidentals that they incur.

- Working in the field of criminal justice, law enforcement and/or forensic science
- Employed by an agency with limited or minimal training opportunities or training budget
- First time conference attendee or have not attended the conference in several years
- Those willing to promote the MNIAI within their agencies and among their collogues

**SPECIAL NOTE**
Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the MNIAI Annual Banquet on Thursday evening. By accepting the scholarship, recipients agree to meet with the MNIAI Media Editor (or a proxy from the Board of Directors) after the banquet to provide preferred contact information and to have a photo taken. Each recipient will later be contacted and asked to give testimony regarding their experiences at the Conference. The feedback and photo from each scholarship winner will be published in a future issue of the MNIAI Newsletter.

If your application is completed and submitted to the Secretary/Treasurer before the General Membership Meeting on the Thursday of the Conference, it will be reviewed by the Board during the meeting. Once accepted, the individual is made a member of the Division. Application fees are waived and so are dues for the first full year of membership. That's a $60.00 savings! Ask the Secretary/Treasurer for an application, if one hasn't been included in your Conference folder.
