2027 President's Message
Greetings!
For those who do not know me well, my name is Josh VonHaugg and I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science/Crime Scene Investigation from Hilbert College (NY). I have been fortunate enough to work as a Forensic Scientist II with the Minneapolis Police Department Forensic Services Division since I began my career in forensics in 2017. It has been an honor to serve my fellow forensic professionals on the MNIAI Board of Directors the last several years.
First, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Past-President Brad Litke for stepping back onto the board during a recent vacancy, and for organizing such a highly successful and well-attended 2026 conference.
I am thrilled to plan the 2027 conference which will be returning to the Inn on Lake Superior from September 29th – October 1st, 2027! As we look ahead, if you are interested in presenting or have ideas for topics and workshops you would like to see, please do not hesitate to reach out — I would love to hear from you.
Over the past year, the MNIAI has achieved several significant milestones including securing our 501(c)(3) non-profit status, digitizing our conference materials, and unveiling a new logo. I look forward to building on this momentum by working to modernize our website and further enhancing our conference experience. This organization is member driven, and the board appreciates any comments or suggestions you may have.
